Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam announced that the government will reintroduce road and bridge tolls in 2025.
This development comes as part of the government’s broader financial strategy revealed during the mid-year fiscal policy review for 2024, presented in Parliament on Tuesday.
Dr. Adam emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing revenue generation mechanisms, including the operationalisation of an integrated property tax system and the amendment of the Fiscal Responsibility Act to reinstate the numeric threshold suspended in 2020.
The Finance Minister disclosed that an extra GH¢1.5 billion has been sanctioned to address unresolved claims linked to financial management companies. This decision reflects the government’s proactive approach to resolving financial sector challenges and restoring stability.
