President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is hopeful for a prosperous year as Ghana and the global community usher in 2024. Despite the economic challenges experienced by the country in 2023, there were signs of recovery in the latter part of the year, notably a substantial decrease in the inflation rate.
In light of the upcoming election year in 2024, President Akufo-Addo expresses confidence that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will emerge as his successor through transparent and equitable electoral processes.
“It’s going to be a good and peaceful year. We will have a clean election to elect our new president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.”
On December 7, 2024, Ghanaians are set to participate in the electoral process to select a new president.
In addition to the two prominent political parties, namely the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress, choosing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and John Dramani Mahama as their respective candidates for the upcoming elections, other political parties and independent candidates are also gearing up to enter the competition.
