Following Ghana’s commanding 3-0 victory over Madagascar, Alexander Djiku has called for continued determination as the Black Stars push closer to securing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Fenerbahçe defender was a rock at the back in Monday night’s clash in Morocco, helping Ghana register back-to-back clean sheets in the qualifiers.
Despite Ghana’s impressive form, Djiku is urging his teammates to remain focused and not get carried away by their current lead in Group I.
“We continue to chase our dreams for the World Cup 2026. Keep pushing forward and let’s make every moment count! We thank all Ghanaians for the support and love,” Djiku shared on X after the match.
The Black Stars gave their fans plenty to celebrate, with Thomas Partey leading the charge by scoring in the 11th and 53rd minutes, before Mohammed Kudus wrapped up the victory with a 58th-minute goal.
With the international break concluding, players will return to their respective clubs before regrouping for the next round of World Cup qualifiers in September.
Ghana remains firmly in control of Group I, but Djiku’s message is clear—there’s still work to be done to secure their World Cup ticket.
