Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has called on his players to stay fully focused as Ghana prepares for a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Madagascar at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium tonight.
After their dominant 5-0 victory over Chad on Friday, the Black Stars are riding high on confidence. However, Addo has cautioned his team against complacency, stressing that they must give their all to secure another important result.
“I think the most important thing is that I know everybody’s excited, everybody was happy about our last win, but we still have a long way to go, and we need everyone to be on their toes,” Addo told GFA media.
“We don’t need 98 percent, we don’t need 99 percent, we need 100 percent. This is like a small final, and if we win this game, then we are really going to qualify, but it’s going to be very, very tough,” he added.
Ghana currently leads Group I in the World Cup qualifiers, and a victory over Madagascar would further strengthen their chances of securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT, with the Black Stars aiming to extend their winning run.
