British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has congratulated Donald Trump on what appears to be a decisive path to election victory, as projections show Trump winning pivotal swing states.
With Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia expected to fall under Trump’s banner, the Republican candidate now stands close to securing the presidency.
Republicans are also projected to maintain control of the Senate, a development that may shape the political landscape of both the United States and its allies in the coming years.
In a warm message, Starmer acknowledged Trump’s anticipated victory, conveying Britain’s eagerness to continue its longstanding alliance with the U.S.
“Congratulations president-elect Trump on your historic election victory. I look forward to working with you in the years ahead,” Starmer expressed.
He added that the United Kingdom and the United States, as “the closest of allies,” would remain unified in defending shared principles of freedom, democracy, and economic strength.
Starmer went on to emphasize the anticipated positive impact of the UK’s alliance with the U.S., particularly in areas like growth, security, and technological innovation.
“From growth and security to innovation and tech,” he said, “I know that the UK-US special relationship will continue to prosper on both sides of the Atlantic for years to come.”
However, the final result will be announced in the next ten to thirteen days.
