Senior Communications Officer of the Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, has called on Ghanaians to temper their expectations of the newly formed anti-corruption preparatory team created by the President-elect.
Speaking on ABC Morning Show, Mr. Owusu described the initiative as unprecedented but remained skeptical about its potential impact.
“This is the first time we’re seeing such a move from a President-elect, but until I see tangible and positive developments, I won’t hesitate to think otherwise,” Mr. Owusu remarked during the interview. He stressed that while the formation of the team is a step in the right direction, Ghanaians must adopt a cautious approach and avoid overly high hopes regarding the recovery of stolen taxes and public lands.
Mr. Owusu emphasized the importance of focusing on concrete results rather than rhetoric. “We need to manage our expectations. What matters most is whether this team will genuinely deliver on its mandate or just end up being another political gesture,” he said. His comments highlight a growing public interest in the effectiveness of anti-corruption initiatives under the incoming administration.
