Parliament has commenced the registration process for Members of Parliament-elect for the upcoming 9th Parliament of the 4th Republic.
In a statement released on December 24, 2024, Parliament announced that the registration exercise begins with an online phase today, Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
This will be followed by in-person registration from January 2 to January 6, 2025.
“Targeted messages inviting members will be sent to members-elect via WhatsApp or emails. Physical registration will start on Thursday, 2nd January 2025, and end on 6th January 2025,” the statement noted.
The process seeks to ensure a smooth transition and adequate preparation for the swearing-in of the new Parliament.
