President John Dramani Mahama has officially submitted a list of 10 nominees for regional ministerial positions to Parliament for vetting and approval.
In a communication addressed to Speaker Alban Bagbin, the President emphasized the importance of these appointments in driving development and ensuring effective governance across the regions.
The nominees include Adolf John for the Northern Region, John Kwadwo Gyapong for Oti, James Gunu for Volta, and Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjel Awatey for Eastern.
Other key appointments are Ibrahim Tia for North-East, Dr. Frank Amoakohene for Ashanti, Akamugri Donatus Atanga for Upper East, Charity Gardiner for Ahafo, Salisu Bi-Awuribe for Savannah, and Linda Ocloo, MP, for Greater Accra.
However, six regions — Bono, Bono East, Central, Western, Western North, and Upper West — remain without nominated ministers, indicating further announcements are anticipated.
Parliament’s vetting process is expected to begin soon, with focus on ensuring the nominees’ capacity to lead their respective regions effectively.
