Anti-corruption crusader Vitus Azeem has criticized plans by the Attorney General Designate, Dr. Dominic Ayine, to establish whistleblower agencies in every district across the country.
Speaking on ABC News Prime on Tuesday, January 14, Azeem described the move as unnecessary, arguing that existing anti-corruption agencies are already available for reporting improprieties but remain poorly equipped and resourced.
He urged the new government to prioritize strengthening these agencies and ensuring the safety and protection of whistleblowers instead of creating new offices.
“The focus should be on providing adequate resources and protection for whistleblowers rather than adding another layer of bureaucracy,” Azeem stated.
