Appearing before the Parliament Appointments Committee on Wednesday, January 22, Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, emphasized the need to promote eco-tourism and invest in cruise tourism as part of efforts to revamp Ghana’s tourism sector.

She stated, “We must be interested in keeping Ghana clean and promoting eco-tourism,” highlighting the potential economic and environmental benefits of a sustainable tourism model.

She further underscored the importance of restructuring the Tourism Ministry to enhance its efficiency and impact.

Gomashie also addressed the tensions following the 2024 election results, urging Ghanaians to be more tolerant of each other.

“We need to be more tolerant of each other,” she said, condemning the chaos caused by some party supporters.

Her remarks aimed to foster unity and peace as the nation moves forward.

In related developments, President John Dramani Mahama swore in six new ministers, including Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, John Jinapor, and Haruna Iddrisu, charging them with upholding high standards of confidentiality and dedication.

The President urged the appointees to serve diligently, reiterating his administration’s commitment to progress and capable leadership.
