Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, stated that it was a terrific experience working with the outgone majority leader in parliament, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.
Speaking after Ato Forson’s handover, Afenyo Markin shared some heartfelt memories with the outgone Ato Forson, who is set to begin his new role as Minister of Finance.
“I recall how many times you brutally informed me that your side did not back me.”
“Despite all of our disagreements, we maintained our friendship,” he said.
Speaking on the new majority leader, Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga, to whom the two will face a lot in parliament, agreeing and disagreeing on topics to the welfare of the state, Afenyo said, “You don’t mind how long it takes to negotiate to bring peace, and that is something I respect.”
“I pray that you continue with that skill,” Afenyo praised Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga, who will now lead the NDC caucus in parliament.
Afenyo Markin stated, “I assure them that we will work together…”
