Mahama engages Constitution Review Committee on key reforms [IMAGES]

President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, March 4, met with the Constitution Review Committee for their maiden stakeholder engagement to discuss proposed amendments to Ghana’s constitution.

Chaired by Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh, the committee briefed the President on their progress and sought his insights on critical areas needing reform.

Mahama commended the committee’s efforts and assured them of his government’s full support in advancing the review process.

During the discussion, President Mahama highlighted key constitutional issues requiring urgent amendments, including the election of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), the emoluments of Article 71 officeholders, and the appointment of Ministers from Parliament.

He emphasized that addressing these reforms would enhance Ghana’s governance framework, promote accountability, and strengthen democratic institutions.
