The Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, Adam Mutawakilu, has rejected reports of a two-week shortage in the Effutu Municipality.
During a working visit, he explained that distribution in the area has remained steady, contrary to suggestions by former Board Chairman and MP for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
Mr. Mutawakilu stated that the claim that about 140,000 consumers were cut off due to the Kasoa–Winneba highway expansion project was without basis and not supported by verifiable evidence.
He emphasized that the company continues to prioritize reliable supply across communities within its operational areas.
Addressing concerns on the Kasoa–Winneba project, Mr. Mutawakilu disclosed that arrangements are ongoing to reconnect households whose lines were affected by the ongoing works.
He assured that necessary interventions are being pursued to bring relief to affected residents.
He added that the restoration process is being treated as urgent to ensure that residents regain consistent access to water as soon as possible.
