North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has once again extended his support to education in his constituency by providing free chop boxes and mattresses to all 2,207 fresh Senior High School (SHS) students.
According to the MP, the initiative is aimed at ensuring that no student is denied access to education due to financial constraints. The beneficiaries are spread across the five senior high schools in the constituency, with the provision forming part of a wider intervention to promote equal educational opportunities.

Mr. Ablakwa explained that the gesture is part of a broader package designed to reduce school dropouts and ease the financial burden on parents.
“This is in line with the North Tongu tradition, where every student is guaranteed an equal opportunity to pursue education without unnecessary obstacles,” he said.
Beyond providing essential learning materials, the legislator revealed that significant infrastructural projects are also underway across the constituency’s senior high schools. These projects include the construction of new mega dining halls and dormitory blocks to accommodate the rising number of students enrolled.

Mr. Ablakwa expressed optimism that these measures will go a long way to create a more conducive learning environment. He emphasized that the interventions are geared toward ensuring that all students, regardless of their socio-economic background, have access to the resources and facilities they need to succeed.
