Award-winning Ghanaian singer and songwriter Akwaboah is set to release a new single titled ‘Same Same’, an uplifting anthem for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The song, scheduled for release on March 20, 2026, seeks to highlight themes of unity, equality and shared humanity, using football as a powerful symbol that brings people together across borders.

Renowned for his songwriting depth and emotive delivery, Akwaboah channels a message that transcends race, geography and cultural differences. Through ‘Same Same’, he emphasizes that despite apparent distinctions among people, there remains a common human experience that binds everyone together.

The highlife-inspired track blends rich instrumentation with reflective lyrics, positioning it as both a celebratory and thought-provoking piece. It arrives at a time when global discussions around identity and inclusion continue to shape cultural conversations, making its message particularly timely.

This latest release also builds on Akwaboah’s growing association with football-themed music on the international stage. He previously wrote ‘Bring Back the Love’, a song linked to the FIFA World Cup 2022, which further established his reputation for crafting music that captures the emotional essence of the global game.

Speaking about the new single, the musician described the World Cup as more than just a sporting event, noting that it represents a shared feeling that connects people worldwide. He explained that ‘Same Same’ is his attempt to capture the passion, pride and collective energy that defines the tournament.

Once released, the song will be available on major digital streaming platforms, ensuring accessibility to audiences around the world and reinforcing its message of global unity.

With ‘Same Same’, Akwaboah once again uses music as a bridge—inviting listeners everywhere to reflect on what unites them while celebrating the universal love for football.
