The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced a price adjustment for sachet water, effective Monday, April 6, attributing the hike to rising production expenses caused by global supply chain disruptions.
According to the association, the cost of raw materials, especially polymers used in production, has surged significantly due to challenges in international markets. NASPAWAP further noted that the ongoing conflict in Iran has worsened the shortage of essential inputs, making it difficult for producers to maintain current prices.
Under the new pricing structure, the ex-factory price for a 30-sachet bag (500ml each) will rise to GH¢8, while the ex-truck price is set at GH¢10. Retailers will be allowed to sell the bags at a maximum of GH¢15.
NASPAWAP has urged distributors, retailers, and consumers to adhere to the revised pricing, emphasizing that the adjustment is crucial to sustaining production and ensuring the continued availability of safe drinking water across the country.
