For years, the people of Ada have navigated broken roads, walked through dark, unsafe streets at night, and waited helplessly when medical emergencies struck with no ambulance in sight. Now, the youth say enough is enough.
On Saturday, 23rd May 2026, the Youth of Valour group will lead hundreds of residents in a peaceful demonstration under the rallying cry “Ada Deserves Better.” The march is a direct demand for urgent action on the developmental neglect that has stalled progress in the Ada Traditional Area.
At the heart of the protest are three issues that touch every home: deteriorating road networks that isolate communities, a failing street lighting system that leaves residents vulnerable after dark, and a health sector in crisis, most visibly marked by the lack of functional ambulances.
“This is not just another protest. This is a call for unity and accountability,” the organizers said. Their theme, “Ada United for Development,” frames the march as both a warning and an invitation—to come together and demand better from those in authority.
“We are marching against multiple developmental failures,” the group explained in a statement. “But our focus is clear: roads that cut communities off, streets that are dark and unsafe at night, and a health system that cannot respond when lives are on the line.”
To amplify their message, the youth will push the hashtags #ADAdeservesBetter, #FixAdaRoads, #FixOurAmbulance, and #FixOurHospital across social media, urging Ghanaians nationwide to stand with Ada.
The organizers are calling on all residents, community groups, and stakeholders to join the peaceful march. At its conclusion, the Ada Traditional Council will receive a formal petition outlining the group’s demands and expectations for immediate intervention.
For the youth of Ada, the message is simple: development cannot wait, and Ada’s time for change is now.
