The Ghana Police Service has arrested four students of Ada Senior High Technical School following a disturbing viral video that allegedly showed one of the students wielding a cutlass and threatening colleagues on campus.
According to a press release issued by the Tema Regional Police Command, the incident came to the attention of the police at about 12:10 a.m. on May 22, 2026, after the video surfaced online.
“The incident came to the attention of the police at about 12:10 a.m. on 22 May 2026 after the video was intercepted online,” the statement said.
The police added that a night patrol team was immediately dispatched to the school to intervene and restore calm.
With assistance from school authorities, the police arrested Raymond Gyamfi, 18, Oscar Amemoair, 18, Odartey Wilson, 18, and one juvenile who were identified in the video.
“The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations,” the statement noted.
The Command also advised students to use peaceful means in resolving disagreements and cautioned against acts of violence and intimidation within schools.
“Students are advised to resolve disagreements peacefully through laid down school structures and refrain from acts of violence or intimidation,” the police said.
Parents and school authorities were further encouraged to strengthen guidance, supervision, and discipline among students to maintain safety and order in schools.
The police assured the public that investigations into the matter are ongoing and that further developments would be communicated in due course.
