The Member of Parliament for Salaga South Constituency, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has launched Phase Four of her flagship “Water for All” Initiative with the construction of 10 new boreholes in selected communities and areas across the constituency.
As part of her commitment to improving access to safe and clean drinking water, the project aims to address persistent water challenges and enhance the living conditions of residents across several communities.
The initiative includes the construction of mechanised boreholes at Telkpa, Nguansonu, the Power House Area, Masaka, Kayereso, Abelekura, Kakoshi Health Centre, and the RTF Area, all within Salaga. In addition, hand-pump boreholes are being constructed at Iddipe and the Makango Road Area in Salaga.
Significantly, drilling works have already been successfully completed in eight of the beneficiary communities and areas, with the project team currently undertaking drilling activities at Telkpa.
The intervention is expected to bring clean and potable water closer to residents, reducing the burden many households—particularly women and children—face in their daily search for water.
Residents of the beneficiary communities have warmly welcomed the initiative and expressed their appreciation to the MP for fulfilling her commitment to expanding access to safe drinking water across the constituency. It will be recalled that Phase Three of the Water for All Initiative, implemented last year, resulted in the successful construction and installation of 17 mechanised and hand-pump boreholes across various communities in the constituency.
The latest phase further underscores Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah’s dedication to improving the welfare of her constituents through sustainable access to essential social amenities and improved water infrastructure.
