The Centre for Public Diplomacy (CPD), has hosted a delegation from the Ghana-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Ghana and the Russian Federation.
The delegation, led by Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Member of Parliament for Ho West and Chairperson of the Energy Committee of Parliament, paid a courtesy call on the Centre on Tuesday. Hon. Bedzrah chaired the meeting on behalf of the Committee Chairman, Hon. Kennedy Nyarko Osei.
Welcoming the delegation, the Executive Director of CPD, Dr. Natalie Krasvoskaia, thanked the group for the visit and briefed them on the Centre’s educational and cultural activities over the past year.
She noted that CPD has been at the forefront of promoting people-to-people exchanges and cultural diplomacy between Ghana and Russia.
Hon. Bedzrah, speaking on behalf of the Committee Chairman, officially introduced the Parliamentary Friendship Group to the leadership of CPD. He commended the Centre for its role in deepening educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
He further urged CPD to work closely with the Parliamentary Friendship Group to enhance parliamentary diplomacy and consolidate the gains made in Ghana-Russia relations.
“The goal is to ensure that our engagement goes beyond government-to-government relations to include institutions like CPD that are driving cultural and educational exchanges,” Hon. Bedzrah said.
Discussions at the meeting centered on expanding cooperation in key sectors including education, agriculture, science and technology, and infrastructure development.
Both the CPD leadership and the Parliamentary Friendship Group expressed commitment to building stronger partnerships that will deliver mutual benefits for the people of Ghana and Russia.
The visit forms part of ongoing engagements by the Ghana-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group to deepen legislative and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
