Ghanaian business leader and Chief Executive Officer of BIL Clinical Laboratories, Dr Tony Basingnaa, has been honoured at the 2026 100 Africa Most Influential Persons Awards in Kigali, Rwanda.
Dr Basingnaa was recognised as “Africa’s Most Influential Leader” at the ceremony held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the M Hotel in Kigali.

The event brought together professionals, entrepreneurs, business leaders and other personalities from across Africa whose work and contributions have earned recognition in different fields.
The awards are organised by The Business Executive Media Group, which says the platform seeks to recognise individuals whose leadership and professional achievements contribute to Africa’s socio-economic and cultural development.

Dr Basingnaa is the CEO of BIL Clinical Laboratories, a Ghanaian medical laboratory services company. His recognition adds to the growing number of Ghanaian professionals being acknowledged on the continental platform.

His journey is particularly notable because of his roots in Ghana’s Upper West Region where his professional and entrepreneurial activities have developed over the years.
Beyond his work in the healthcare sector, Dr Basingnaa has also been involved in Ghana’s business community. He serves as Chairman of the Upper West Regional branch of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI).
His work across healthcare and business places him within two important areas of national development, providing professional health services while also contributing to discussions around entrepreneurship and the growth of businesses.
The Kigali recognition therefore provides an opportunity to celebrate not only Dr Basingnaa’s personal achievement but also the contribution of Ghanaian professionals and entrepreneurs to Africa’s development.
The 100 Africa Most Influential Persons Awards has in previous editions recognised personalities working across areas including business, technology, healthcare, entrepreneurship and community development. The 2026 ceremony similarly brought together personalities from different sectors and countries.
For Ghana, the recognition of Dr Basingnaa is a moment worth acknowledging, particularly as it shines a spotlight on professional and entrepreneurial efforts emerging from beyond the country’s major business centres.
