The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has confidently dismissed fears of chaos following Ghana’s upcoming December elections.
Speaking at a durbar marking the 25th anniversary of his reign at Asiakwa in the Eastern Region, the Okyenhene assured that Ghana will once again emerge victorious and peaceful, as it has done since 1992.
“You rejoice when after casting your votes your party is victorious, but if your party does not win, that is not the end of the world for you,” he stated, urging Ghanaians to maintain peace.
The durbar, a colorful gathering attended by dignitaries including NPP parliamentary candidates for Abuakwa South and North, as well as the Municipal Chief Executive, Akosua Asabea, saw the Okyenhene calling on the youth to embrace the educational opportunities provided under President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
He emphasized the importance of development in Asiakwa and neighboring areas, urging the government to fulfill its developmental promises.
Nifahene of Akyem Abuakwa and Asiakwahene, Dasebre Dr. Twum Ampofo, praised the Okyenhene’s vision for the region, noting the enstoolment of more sub-chiefs and calling for greater unity.
This event was the third in a series of durbars honoring the Okyenhene’s 25th anniversary, following earlier celebrations at Kukurantumi and Begoro.
