Leaders of ten political groupings have signed a pact to contest the 2024 general elections under the banner of a coalition called the Alliance for Revolutionary Change.
The groups making up the Alliance include, the Movement for Change, National Interest Movement, Third Force Movement, Ghana First Coalition, Ghana Green Party among others.
Speaking at the launch of the alliance on Wednesday, April 17, Leader, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen courted the support of all Ghanaians indicating that the Alliance is well positioned to transform the country. He asserted that the formation of the Alliance is to redefine the architecture of political governance in the country.
Mr Alan Kyerematen bemoaned that after 67years of independence, Ghana is still battling with the fundamental challenges of development, economic crises, extremely high level of unemployment, a declining healthcare delivery system, educational system that does not respond to the current and future development needs, the rampant and irresponsible exploitation of our natural resources and the deplorable state of infrastructure.
He outlined six (6) point strategies that can aid the transformation of the country. The strategies include, i. Ushering in a new type of leadership in Ghana. ii. Implementing transformational policies, iii. Making private sector the engine growth and development, iv. Building a United Ghana, v. Putting young people and women at the centre of Ghana’s national development agenda, vi. Inspiring a revolutionary change in the mindset and behavior of Ghanaians.
