Asanteman has been thrown into mourning following the passing of its revered queen mother, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The Oyoko Family confirmed her death during an emergency session of the Asanteman Traditional Council earlier today.
Nana Konadu Yiadom III, the second most powerful figure in the Asanteman Kingdom, was widely respected for her influence and leadership.
The queen mother served for eight years before her passing on August 7, 2025. She died at the age of 91.
Her passing marks the end of a major chapter in the history of Asanteman and at large Ghana’s chieftaincy and tradition.
