Former Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe has filed a legal claim against his former club, alleging negligent medical advice during his time at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old, who recently signed with Burnley, lodged the claim at the High Court last week. The case reportedly centres on an injury sustained around July 2022 and is understood to be of significant value, exceeding £1 million.
Tuanzebe endured a prolonged absence from the pitch during the 2022/23 season, missing 195 days through injury before being loaned out to Stoke City in January 2023. His time at Stoke was limited, making just five appearances.
Following his departure from United in the summer of 2023, Tuanzebe signed for Ipswich Town as a free agent in September before moving to Burnley earlier this month.
The versatile defender, who previously represented England at youth level, now plays for the DR Congo national team. His career also included three separate loan stints with Aston Villa and a brief spell with Napoli in 2022.
