As November 4 approaches, campaigns by the four presidential aspirants heat up with most of them having theirs on radio and television in Accra.
The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is touring the remaining 11 regions and their constituencies with his ‘It Is Possible’ campaign message.
Delegates across the regions and constituencies have been receiving him heartily, assuring him of their support, commitment and determination to see to it that he emerges victorious on November 4.
The delegates are fully aware of the fact that between Bawumia and John Mahama, Bawumia stands tall.
On governance, especially, on how to manage an economy, Dr. Bawumia is unique. Mahama does not come near when it comes to which of the two can best manage the economy as president.
When it comes to competence, John Mahama is the certified king of incompetence, getting the nickname the incompetent one.
In the five Northern Regions, the presence of Bawumia has instilled confidence in the people so much so that the NPP, today, has more seats over there than the NDC.
Bawumia, if he leads the NPP, will get more votes and seats for the New Patriotic Party against Mahama and his NDC in the five Northern Regions.
Bawumia is liked by the neutrals more than Mahama. He is coming with his own set of ideas and vision to move the nation forward.
Moreover, having being part of this administration, he knows how to better lead Ghana out of its current woes which are not homegrown.
The delegates know all these and more hence, their unflinching support for the Vice President.
John Mahama and his charges are well aware of these and for that matter, are urging NPP’s delegates not to support Bawumia.
It is like whenever Bawumia speaks, Mahama and his people catch cold. He gives them the jitters.
As November 4 draws nearer, it is becoming evident that Dr. Bawumia’ personality and track record has endeared him to delegates and party faithfuls alike as he stands tall among opposing candidates, making him a key and leading candidate to possibly emerge as the face of the New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2024 general elections.
