Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged voters in Afram Plains North to reconsider their support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.
Speaking to chiefs, community members, and party supporters, Dr. Prempeh emphasized that continued allegiance to the NDC will impede the development of Donkorkrom, as he believes the party has consistently failed to address the region’s needs.
“Any vote for the NDC would essentially be wasted,” he declared, reinforcing his view that the party lacks a genuine commitment to the region’s development.
Highlighting the NDC’s history of neglect, Dr. Prempeh expressed disappointment over the party’s discriminatory attitude towards Afram Plains, despite the area’s previous support during past elections.
He asserted that the NPP, on the other hand, is committed to inclusivity and has consistently prioritized the interests of Ghanaians.
As part of his campaign tour, Dr. Prempeh also launched the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) machines in Afram Plains North, reinforcing the NPP’s dedication to infrastructure development.
He called on residents to vote decisively for Dr. Bawumia on December 7, emphasizing that their support is crucial for maintaining the region’s developmental progress.
In a rallying call to the community, Eastern Regional Chairman of the NPP, Jeffery Ohene Konadu, appealed for a shift in voting patterns, urging residents to support the NPP this election.
Konadu lamented past electoral decisions that denied him access to parliament, stressing that this time, with the support of the parliamentary candidate, meaningful development can be brought to the area.
He affirmed his commitment to advocating for the people of Afram Plains, echoing Dr. Prempeh’s sentiments that voting for Dr. Bawumia will elect a leader poised to implement transformative policies for national development.
