The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) has thrown its support behind the Energy Minister’s assertion that Ghana’s energy sector is stabilizing.
Paul Ofori, Head of Research at COPEC, said on ABC in the Morning that recent improvements in power availability and compliance by Independent Power Producers (IPPs) indicate the government is regaining control.
“It’s showing clearly that some level of stability is being restored,” he noted, citing the absence of major debt issues and new collaborations with agencies like the Bui Authority. He applauded the Ministry’s efforts but stressed the need for accountability.
“We must hold those responsible for the past mismanagement to account,” Ofori added.
His remarks follow the Minister’s recent public assurance that Ghana’s energy challenges are being resolved.
