Deputy Attorney General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai has dismissed allegations of theft at the residence of former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison, urging the Minority in Parliament to formally file a police report if they want their claims to be taken seriously.
Speaking on Ghana Tonight, Dr. Srem-Sai described the allegations as baseless, emphasizing that no official complaint has been made to the police.
“I would expect that the Minority will advise Dr. Addison to take steps to report to the police. If you [Minority] have chosen not to make any report, yet you want to force the public to accept your allegations of theft in the former central bank governor’s home, that is not right,” he argued.
He further suggested that some Minority MPs have fabricated stories and falsely attributed them to Dr. Addison, stating that the former governor’s stance contradicts their claims.
Meanwhile, Dr. Srem-Sai also addressed a separate case involving former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director Kwabena Adu Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, confirming that the couple remains in custody despite being granted bail due to their inability to meet bail conditions.
“They are actually on bail. What is left now is for them to fulfill their bail conditions. It’s not just one person that we have in custody; there are 15 suspects,” he revealed in an interview on Monday, March 24.
He added that investigations are still ongoing, with some suspects arrested, while others have been questioned and released.
With the controversy surrounding the alleged theft at Dr. Addison’s residence, Dr. Srem-Sai reiterated that without an official police report, the claims remain speculative and unverified.
