The Deputy Minister for Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has lauded the University of Media Arts and Communication (UNIMAC) for its commitment to integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into its curriculum in a responsible and ethical manner.
Speaking at the university’s 3rd Congregation, Rev. Fordjour expressed his excitement about the university’s forward-thinking approach to AI, emphasizing that it would play a vital role in shaping the future of media education.
Rev. Fordjour also praised UNIMAC’s ambition to become the top choice for higher education in niche areas of media and communication.
“UNIMAC is positioning itself as the preferred destination for research, teaching, and learning in contemporary media fields,” he remarked.
He further congratulated the newly invested Vice Chancellor, Professor Eric Opoku Mensah, for his leadership and the university’s progressive initiatives.
Professor Mensah in his address highlighted the university’s ongoing efforts in promoting gender parity and empowering women in media education.
He emphasized that over the years, UNIMAC has enrolled more women than men, demonstrating the institution’s dedication to ensuring women play a significant role in the media industry.
