The Deputy Director of Elections and IT of the NDC, Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer has mentioned that the EC cannot afford to start printing the ballot papers ahead of the 2024 general elections amidst concerns over statistics.
Speaking on ABC in the Morning, he indicated that the EC has no basis for going ahead to print the ballot as they are yet to rectify the challenges the parties have identified.
” I don’t think they can start printing the ballot tomorrow.”
“You know we took some decision and they (EC) accepted it. About the signing on the pink sheet and the ballot.”
“And she (EC Chair) agreed with it.
His comment comes after the electoral commission has indicated that will begin the printing of ballots for the 2024 elections from Tomorrow October 17, 2024. He further added the EC should go with what was agreed at the IPAC Meeting yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of Elections and IT of the National Democratic Congress, Dr Rashid Tanko Computer, has maintained that the Electoral Commission cannot have two different provisional figures and statistics.
He stated that the EC should be very clear on the figures before they can go ahead with printing ballots for elections.
“You have brought another one which is different from the statistics.
“You see these are some problems they create themselves, and when we talk, people think we are always attacking them.
He however added that the NDC will follow through to make sure the EC can sanitize the statistics.
He further complained of the lack of inclusion regarding the online voter exhibition by the EC.
“How many Ghanaians can go online to check their names? My people in the rural areas cannot because they don’t have network.”
