The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the certified voters register for Election 2024 will be ready in the first week of November, 2024.
Chairperson Mrs. Jean Mensa revealed this crucial timeline during an Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting in Accra on Tuesday, emphasizing that political parties will have access to the register as indicated.
In a call for clarity, Mrs. Mensa urged political parties and the media to refrain from misquoting her regarding the availability of the Certified Voters Register.
She underlined the importance of accurate information in fostering a healthy political environment as the nation prepares for a pivotal moment in its democratic journey.
In a related initiative, the EC has launched an online exhibition of the updated provisional voters register (PVR), which will run from October 15 to October 19, 2024.
This move comes in response to concerns raised by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) about discrepancies in the initial public exhibition.
The online exhibition, according to the EC enhances accessibility, allowing voters to verify their registration details conveniently from home.
Voters can check their registration information free of charge using the short code 71151# or by visiting the EC’s website at ec.gov.gh.
