A recent poll by the Global Info Analytics projects a lead for the NPP’s Solomon Kwame Asumadu in the upcoming Akwatia by-election with 49.7% of the votes, followed by the NDC’s Bernard Bediako Baidoo with 43.8%, while the remaining 6.5% is expected to go to a potential third candidate.
The poll conducted by the Global Info Analytics depicts a breakdown of the results obtained from 21 electoral areas with a sample size of 2,087 using a probability random online sampling.
Debunking an assumption of sympathy for the late MP to be a key issue likely to influence voters, developmental projects was primary for the electorates in the Akwatia Constituency.
Salam Nsiah, a Senior Analyst at the Global Info Analytics, however, affirmed that, as sad as the passing of the former Akwatia MP was, where some voters may decide to vote on the basis of sympathy, the NPP should not dwell on it entirely as it may backfire
