Dr. Hassan Ayariga, Founder and Flagbearer of the All Peoples Congress (APC), has unveiled a sweeping reform for Ghana’s National Security sector, proposing that a first degree be the minimum qualification for candidates.

In an interview on ‘Focus on ABC’ with Joshua Ayira on Thursday, August 29, 2024, Ayariga articulated his plan to allocate National Security positions to graduates and offer police slots to third-year university students.

“My policy for the security institution is 1st Degree, that’s the basic. So it allows me as President to allocate slots of National Security to 1st Degree holders and Police slots to 3rd-year students,” he explained.

He further emphasized that this would help students transition smoothly into their roles and alleviate the financial burden on their families.

Ayariga also voiced criticism of Ghana’s electoral system, accusing it of being rigged and failing to reflect the true will of the people.

He highlighted the discrepancy between registered and actual voters in the last election, noting that out of nearly 17 million registered voters, only about 11 million participated.

“These numbers represent Ghanaians who believe the leadership of both the NPP and NDC has failed them,” he asserted.

Ayariga claimed that many voters feel their ballots are manipulated or outright stolen, citing instances where APC votes were not counted accurately.

Positioning himself as a viable alternative to the traditional parties, Ayariga urged voters to support his vision for change in the upcoming December 7, 2024 elections.

He appealed to those disillusioned by the NPP and NDC to rally behind his party, promising a shift towards a more transparent and effective leadership.

“I present myself as the third force, but it is now left for Ghanaians to accept it,” he concluded, emphasizing the need for a trustworthy leadership that truly represents the people’s interests.
