The Ministry of Health has launched an investigation in response to a widely circulated investigative report by The Fourth Estate media house, which highlighted alleged unprofessional practices at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ridge.
In an official statement, the Ministry expressed sympathy for patients and relatives who may have experienced any form of misconduct in health facilities across the country. “We empathize with anyone who has been subjected to unprofessional conduct, and we remain committed to reducing the stress and financial burden faced by patients in accessing healthcare,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry also stated that it was “deeply concerned and surprised” by some of the revelations contained in the report. Describing the issues raised as serious, it emphasized that they warrant thorough examination.
To address the matter, the Ministry is constituting an investigative committee, which is expected to submit its findings within fourteen working days.
The Ministry further called for the full cooperation of all relevant stakeholders, including The Fourth Estate, to provide additional details to ensure accountability and improve service delivery within Ghana’s healthcare system.
