Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, says she will return a cash gift received from the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, following growing public criticism and calls for his suspension.
A video circulating on social media shows Gyamfi handing what appears to be U.S. dollars to the controversial evangelist, sparking outrage, especially among Minority Members of Parliament who have labelled the gesture inappropriate.
In response, Nana Agradaa took to Instagram Live to clarify her position, pledging to return—and even double—the $800 she received.
“I will return the $800 and even double it. I will do my best to find his office, and I will go there with my camera and show it to Ghanaians that I have returned the money,” she said.
The former fetish priestess, now turned preacher, stressed that her conscience would not allow her to be the reason for Gyamfi’s downfall, declaring, “This is my mantle, my Bible, and my anointing oil… I will set my church on fire if I am the reason Sammy will lose his job.”
Meanwhile, Minister in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he described as “opportunistic politics” over the issue.
In an interview on May 12, 2025, Ofosu said the NPP’s calls for Gyamfi’s suspension lack credibility.
“If you look at their conduct and behaviour in government, this is not a party that has any respect for modesty or even decency in public office,” he remarked.
