A renowned media journalist, Phillip Scott has slammed Micasso Spanish Design, a foreign company in Ghana, over its racist/discriminatory hiring process.
In a hiring post for the position of a new showroom manager published by the company, Micasso Spanish Design, as part of the key conditions, requires an applicant to be a European, Indian or Lebanese.
This has generated a lot of backlash, with some Ghanaians heavily criticizing the company.
Adding his voice, Mr. Scott described this as ridiculous and racist, a discriminating approach which seeks to promote white supremacy.
“This shouldn’t be tolerated in Ghana or any other African country. If you don’t want to hire black people, close your shop and head back to your country. Any act of white supremacy shouldn’t be tolerated,” he said.
He further emphasized that strong leadership is needed in combatting racism or discrimination in any form.
“Strong leadership should be exhibited by banning and prosecuting people/companies who seek to promote white supremacy or racism in any form in African states.”
