Anti-corruption campaigner Vitus Azeem has taken aim at the performance of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, stating that he has failed to live up to the high expectations placed on him since assuming office.
According to him, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), which was set up to decisively deal with corruption, has not delivered the results many Ghanaians anticipated.
Speaking on ABC in the Morning, Mr. Azeem said that Ghanaians had hoped for bold and concrete action against corruption, but those hopes have been largely dashed.
“Unfortunately things have not gotten as expected,” he remarked, stressing that the fight against corruption appears stagnant despite the strong public mandate given to the OSP.
The criticism adds to growing public concern about the effectiveness of anti-graft institutions in Ghana. Mr. Azeem noted that corruption remains pervasive and called for stronger political will to back institutions like the OSP.
He argued that without demonstrable results, the office risks losing credibility and public trust, further weakening Ghana’s fight against graft.
