Kwesi Appiah is making headlines with his nomination for the coveted 2024 CAF Coach of the Year award, a major accolade acknowledging his transformative impact on Sudan’s national football team.
Since taking charge last year, Appiah has led the Falcons of Jediane through challenging times, guiding them to seven wins, four draws, and only one defeat out of 12 games.
His recent success includes a 2-0 triumph over Ghana in Libya, pushing Sudan within reach of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) as they stand second in Group F, just three points behind Angola.
Under Appiah’s leadership, Sudan is also leading their 2026 World Cup qualifying Group B with ten points, edging out Senegal by two points.
This nomination places him alongside renowned coaches like Emerse Fae, Hugo Broos, Pedro Gonçalves, and Jose Gomes, vying for top honors at the CAF Awards ceremony in Morocco this December.
The CAF Awards ceremony is set to take place in mid-December in Morocco.
