Akuapem South MP and Member of Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee, Lawrencia Dziwornu, has commended the Black Stars for their resilience and mental toughness in the recent World Cup qualifier against Mali.
She singled out Real Oviedo midfielder Kwasi Sibo, who impressed on his debut by playing the full 90 minutes in Ghana’s hard-fought 1-0 win.
“I want to commend Kwasi Sibo for the sterling performance he displayed against Mali. On his debut, he was able to control the midfield efficiently. I look forward to more of such exceptional performances whenever he dons the Ghana jersey,” Dziwornu said.
Sibo, who earned a late call-up to replace the injured Ibrahim Sulemana and suspended Elisha Owusu, justified his inclusion with his tireless energy, decisive tackles, and composure in midfield.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who plays for newly promoted Spanish La Liga side Real Oviedo, quickly endeared himself to Ghanaian fans with his passionate display.
Ghana currently tops Group I with 19 points after eight games and needs at least four points from their remaining two matches to secure automatic qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
