Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah has reached an agreement with Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin, over the ₵5 million defamation lawsuit she filed against him.

The settlement was announced in court on July 31, after Lilwin extended an apology to Ankomah for derogatory remarks he made about her in a viral video.

The actress’s lawyer, Nii Apatu Plange, informed the court that Lilwin had requested an out-of-court resolution, leading to the adjournment of the case to August 15 for finalization of the settlement terms.

The dispute began when Lilwin made disparaging comments about Martha Ankomah, questioning her relevance in the movie industry.

The video, which gained widespread attention on social media, prompted Ankomah to file a defamation lawsuit, demanding ₵5 million in damages.

However, in an effort to resolve the matter amicably, Lilwin publicly apologized, stating, “I apologize for what I did. Martha Ankomah is not only a sister but a colleague too. I accept my fault and render an unqualified apology to her.”

Following the court proceedings, Justice Forson Agyapong Baah acknowledged that both parties had agreed to settle the matter, postponing the case to August 15 for the final adoption of the settlement terms.
