The Ministry of Health has announced plans to recruit health professionals across Ghana, starting April 16, 2026, following the approval of financial clearance to facilitate the exercise.
In a statement released on April 2, the Ministry’s spokesperson, Tony Goodman, explained that the recruitment will be carried out at the district level, targeting verified staffing gaps in health facilities nationwide. The exercise is expected to be decentralized, competitive, and fully transparent, with selections guided by an approved quota system covering all professional categories and year groups.
The Ministry emphasized that the recruitment will be strictly within approved budgetary limits. Prospective applicants are advised to closely follow official Ministry of Health and district health administration channels for detailed information on vacancies and application procedures.
Candidates are also encouraged to prepare all necessary documentation and credentials in advance of the recruitment rollout.
The financial clearance for this nationwide exercise remains valid until December 31, 2026, and all recruitment activities are expected to conclude within this timeframe. The Ministry has urged eligible professionals to seize the opportunity to contribute to the strengthening of healthcare delivery across the country.
