Former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Dennis Kwakwa, has accused the National Communications Authority (NCA) of frustrating Wontumi Multimedia’s efforts to renew the licences of its radio stations.
Speaking on ABC News Ghana, Mr Kwakwa claimed that the media group was unable to complete its authorisation process due to unnecessary delays on the part of the regulator.
Mr Kwakwa insisted that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) was not politicising the matter, stressing that his concerns were based on facts.
“We the NPP are not politicising the issue,” he said, adding that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) “will not be in power forever.”
He further stated that he had provided adequate documentation to demonstrate that Wontumi Multimedia had not breached any broadcasting rules.
“I have given enough document to prove that Wontumi media has not defaulted any rule,” he asserted, urging for fairness and transparency in the handling of the matter.
