Global Info Analytics in a post on Facebook has disclosed the increasing popularity of independent candidates, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremangten and Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar.
They questioned if there is going be a possible run-off in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.
This revelation follows a shift from the agency’s earlier predictions that ruled out the likelihood of a run-off in the December elections.
Cheddar who has hit double-digit poll in several regions, highlights a notable trend that could reshape the electoral landscape.
Speaking to ABC News GH on Friday, Salam Nsia, Senior Analyst at Global Info Analytics revealed that Vice President Bawumia’s support has dipped in some areas, with his approval hovering around 40%.
He added that Former President Mahama has also experienced declines in a few regions, although his overall standing remains strong enough to keep him above the 50% threshold necessary for an outright victory.
“The broader outline is that, Cheddar is doing better.
“In some regions he is in the double digits.
“Alan is doing quiet well, but Cheddar is doing better than him.
“Bawumia dropped in some regions.
“Bawumia is hovering almost to 40%”
“Former President Mahama also dropped in a couple of regions. But generally the decline for him has not been significant to bring him under 50%.
Previously, the agency had predicted an unequivocal win for Mahama in the upcoming elections. However, the recent developments point to a potential upset, raising the stakes for all candidates involved as the election date approaches.
