The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened investigations into alleged acts of inducement and vote buying during the party’s parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso East Constituency.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Secretariat on Friday, February 7, the NDC said its national executives had been alerted to reports of widespread irregularities involving some aspirants in the internal election held in the constituency.

The party described the alleged conduct as unacceptable, stressing that such actions undermine its core values and the principles underpinning its current reform agenda.
According to the statement, the NDC has directed the immediate commencement of a full-scale inquiry into the matter and assured that decisive action would be taken against any candidate found culpable following the investigations.
The party further warned that it would not hesitate to apply tougher sanctions in future cases, including the possible annulment of internal elections where similar incidents are established.
