The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly obtained a court injunction to halt the re-collation of parliamentary results for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency.
This move comes amidst escalating tensions and disputes over alleged discrepancies in the election results, which have fueled a contentious standoff between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The re-collation, ordered by the Electoral Commission (EC) on December 12, was part of efforts to resolve disputes in four Eastern Region constituencies: Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Suhum, Fanteakwa North, and Akwatia.
The process, conducted at the National Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, was meant to clarify contested figures but was met with disagreements between party representatives.
The NDC raised concerns about inconsistencies in the EC’s original pink sheets, further complicating the process.
The re-collation had already extended into a second day due to disputes before the NDC secured the injunction.
The court order effectively halts the process, leaving the resolution of the Nsawam-Adoagyiri results in limbo.
