The leadership of the National Democratic Congress in the Ashanti Region is expected to hold a meeting with Juliana Kinan Wassang, former Parliamentary candidate for Ejura-Sekyedumase, who was captured in a viral video distributing money during the recent parliamentary and presidential primaries of the party.
Prior to this, the former candidate had been summoned to appear before the office of the Special Prosecutor to address certain inquiries.
According to information gathered by ABC News, the party’s leadership intends to discuss the behavior of the former candidate during the meeting, specifically referencing the party’s constitution.
Madam Kinang-Wassan was recorded in a widely circulated video showering cash on delegates, party supporters, and onlookers upon her arrival at the voting center in Ejura on Saturday.
Her actions led to a commotion at the voting center, with voters abandoning the voting booths to grab money from the aspiring MP.
The money distributed ranged from as little as 5 Ghana cedis to as high as GH¢100 notes.
Her behavior has received strong criticism from some members of the public, with calls for her to face disciplinary action from the party.
