In a show of unwavering support, a group of market queens demonstrated their endorsement for Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a flagbearer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), by personally acquiring his nomination forms on Wednesday, May 31.

These market queens, known for their exceptional grassroots mobilization efforts, voluntarily paid the required Ghc50,000 fee on behalf of Mr. Kyerematen, to enable him to contest in the presidential primaries slated for November 4.

This act of solidarity is in fulfillment of a commitment made by the market queens to Mr. Kyerematen back in January 2022.

Madam Sarkina, the leader of the group, expressed their preparedness to actively support Mr. Kyerematen’s bid, due to his understanding of the needs of market and his noteworthy experience as a former Trade Minister.

Also, leader of the Kumasi Tomato sellers union, Comfort Serwaa said they decided to pay the nomination fee for Mr Kyerematen to show that they trust in his capacity and ability to lead this nation.

“We decided that we won’t allow Mr Kyerematen to pick his forms, we will put resources together and pay the fee for him. So we are here to pick the forms for Alan so he can become the President of Ghana.”

The former Minister of Trade, Mr Kyerematen resigned from his post in January 2023 to focus on his presidential ambitions.
