Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has welcomed Ghana’s upcoming friendly against Germany, describing it as a timely and demanding test as preparations gather pace for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana are set to travel to Stuttgart for the high-profile encounter with the four-time world champions, a fixture Addo believes will play a key role in sharpening his squad ahead of the global tournament.
“This is an amazing opportunity for us to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the world,” Addo said ahead of the match. “Germany are a good side, and we can’t wait to face them in Stuttgart.”
The game forms part of Ghana’s structured build-up to the World Cup, where the Black Stars have been placed in a challenging group alongside Panama, England and Croatia. Addo and his technical team are expected to use the clash to evaluate player performances, tactical discipline and overall readiness against top-tier opposition.
With the tournament scheduled for next summer, the Germany fixture is viewed as an important measuring stick for the squad, giving the players a chance to gauge their level, identify areas for improvement and gain confidence ahead of the demanding road to the 2026 World Cup.
