Former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has been released from detention by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and has since shared a touching video of his reunion with family.
The 10-minute footage, released less than 24 hours after his release, offers a deeply personal glimpse into the emotional toll of his detention, which is linked to an ongoing investigation into a revenue assurance contract at GACL.
In the widely circulated video, Adom-Otchere is seen in a heartfelt conversation with his wife, who disclosed the immense support they received during his ordeal.
She specifically mentioned solidarity from former President Nana Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his wife Samira.
The video also highlighted messages of goodwill from several sympathisers, reflecting Adom-Otchere’s prominent connections in Ghana’s political and media spheres.
Adom-Otchere’s detention followed his invitation by the OSP over a contract allegedly awarded without full GACL board approval during his tenure.
Reports suggest his continued stay in custody stemmed from an inability to meet bail conditions, particularly his lack of landed property in Ghana—a typical requirement used to guarantee cooperation during investigations.
The case adds to ongoing public scrutiny over the OSP’s approach to detention and bail.
